The Barrett Family Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 public charity based in Clearwater, FL. Founded in 2013, the mission of the organization is to select and award outstanding math and science high school teachers from private & public schools in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Sarasota counties.
The Barrett Family Foundation’s Excellence in Science/Mathematics Teacher Award was created as a vehicle to award these educators. Through this award, The Barrett Family Foundation proudly honors outstanding high school teachers who share their energy and enthusiasm for science or mathematics through creative and innovative methods. The award further seeks to recognize teachers who are utilizing methods to cultivate student interest and ability in these two fields.
The Barrett Family Foundation will be providing a maximum of (12) twelve $10,000 cash awards to outstanding math and science teachers from selected private & public high schools in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Sarasota counties for the 2016-17 academic school year.
There are many Foundations which give cash awards to schools, school programs & college bound students. The Barrett Family Foundation is one of the very few organizations of its kind to directly award teachers. It is the passion of The Barrett Family Foundation to give directly to the teachers who make a daily impact on the lives of students in the subjects of math and science.
We believe the teachers who give so much of themselves intellectually, creatively and emotionally to inspire young minds deserve to be recognized and awarded. We are confident that these educators are no doubt leaving a positive, lasting impression on the future of their students.
Founded by visionary orthopedic surgeon John Barrett, M.D., The Barrett Family Foundation is dedicated to awarding exemplary teachers in the areas of math and science.
